These are practical sessions intended to help prepare exporting businesses for Brexit. Join DIT workshops to create a business action plan. The Government is accelerating Brexit preparations so that the UK is ready to leave the EU on 31 October.

Solent LEP on the hunt for new Skills Advisory Panel Members

The Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is recruiting for business leaders and representatives of other key organisations to join its new Skills Advisory Panel, including a Private Sector Deputy Chair. Bringing local employers, skills providers and other key stakeholders together, the panel will help to enhance the Solent LEPs understanding and ability to address key local skills challenges, ensuring the Solent has a workforce fit for the future.

Portsmouth: Council completes acquisition of Lakeside North Harbour campus

Portsmouth Council has completed its acquisition of the giant Lakeside North Harbour office campus in Portsmouth from Northwood Investors in an off-market deal for £138 million, representing one of the largest in-borough local authority purchases that has completed this year. The 120 acre site is currently home to 590,000 square feet of office accommodation, parking, retail space, a hotel and a car dealership as well as significant amounts of development land.

Portsmouth firm won the Queen's Award for Innovation

A FIRM specialising in the design and construction of laboratory containment equipment is eyeing up a massive expansion after a record financial year. Hilsea firm CTS Europe had three staff and made £450,000 in its first year, but its team of 26 has turned over £4 Million in the past 12 months. It now makes more than 300 laboratory containment systems it exports worldwide, including instrument cabinets and climate control enclosures.

D-Day 75 brought thousands of visitors to Portsmouth and the Queens Hotel in Southsea recorded its busiest week yet under its new management. Owner Farid Yeganeh said the week of commemorations had brought a real boost for the hotel which is currently undergoing a multi-million-pound refurbishment. Portsmouth was the focus for global media attention as veterans, world leaders including the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump and VIPs gathered for a glittering ceremony on Southsea Common.
